Area in Pittsburgh is in immediate danger of flood.

PITTSBURGH, PA — After a year of heat considerably below regular, the weather is warming up. With the higher temperatures and the rain, there is also a risk of flooding in the Pittsburgh place.

A low pressure system may be moving into the area by Friday, according to the National Weather Service, and it will result in rain in the region of three-quarters of an inch to one-half feet by early Saturday evening.

” With the warmer temperatures, the snow in place, and the danger of frost jams, there is a legitimate risk of flooding”, the climate services stated on X Wednesday night.

To the east and south of Pittsburgh, storm watches are in effect for Westmoreland and Fayette districts until 1 p. m. Saturday. According to the climate service, those counties are more vulnerable to frost jams and river flood.
