In his 16 months with the Carolina Panthers, JJ Jansen has seen a lot. And now that he’s actually returning for a 17th, the 39-year-old is ready to stay looking up.
On Friday night, the Panthers and their long-lost team reached a fresh one-year contract. Jansen will now be active for the future 2025 plan, which would have been a free adviser starting the new league year .
He posted the following to Twitter/X after the media broke:
Excited to get up for 2025!
Over the next few months, our team will only get healthier because of how wonderful we are.
Come !
— JJ Jansen ( @44DoubleJ)
Since being acquired in a deal with the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2009 time, Jansen has appeared in every one of the Panthers ‘ 260 activities. Since then, he’s played under a total of seven head coaches ( two interim ) and has been a part of four playoff teams in Carolina
This past year, the Panthers went a very nice 5-12 under first-year head coach Dave Canales—more than doubling their win full from 2023. But maybe Jansen might add a second postseason trip to his historic stint before it’s all said and done for him.
