A fresh fiber-optic computer company will soon be available for areas in the Birmingham rail area.

This year, Lumos Fiber, a provider of services to customers in Virginia and the Carolinas, announced plans to drop 1,300 yards of grain to reach “underserved areas and people throughout the Birmingham Metro,” the news broke.

Lumos claims that the development may provide fiber internet for the first time for some residents and businesses in the Birmingham market.

Structure will begin quickly on the system, with executive function already underway, the ISP announced.

Among areas that Lumos listed as in line for fiber-optic accessibility were Birmingham, Irondale, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, and Hoover. Additionally, Jefferson County was mentioned in the release published on Lumos ‘ website.

The news from Lumos was welcomed information for Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato, who’s responses were included in the ISP’s news.

” We are always in pursuit of our people having more choices when it comes to online providers,” Brocato said.” We are always in favor of making He a more connected city.”

Also, the expansion effort will provide “valuable work opportunities to Jefferson County”, the statement stated.

Alabama is now the fifth state in which Lumos now has a presence, according to the announcement.

In addition to Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, the company has also recently announced additions in Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois.

Brian Stading, the CEO of Lumos Fiber, even commented on the news in the ISP’s news.

He claimed that the ISP’s purpose is to have an effect in Alabama for a long time.

” Fiber optic system isn’t just about computer frequencies”, Stading said. ” It’s about enabling opportunities for healthcare, distant working, learning, and intelligent city technology”.
