Pirates sack a major professional, leaving Broncos.

A major professional from the Denver Broncos has been acquired by the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Tuesday, the Raiders named former Broncos professional Mark Thewes as their new Director of basketball operations and plan. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network the news, and the team after confirmed it.

Thewes most recently served as Denver’s vice president of basketball operations and conformity. Before that, he served as director of staff management. When Josh McDaniels was appointed as the team’s head coach in 2009, Thewes first became a member. Before joining the Broncos, he recently worked for the Cleveland Browns.

Thewes ‘ influence on Denver continued well beyond the McDaniels era, a testament to the value he put forth for the team.

The new Las Vegas standard manager, , worked with Thewes in Denver from 2013-2015. They will then reunite in the front department of the Raiders.

Thewes is the eighth staff member to leave the Broncos this offseason, joining ( fired ), ( fired ), , , , and .
