Virginia Halas McCaskey, the team’s primary user and matriarch, passed away on Thursday at the age of 102.
McCaskey inherited the crew in 1983 after her father passed away, making them the oldest children of George Halas. She oversaw the group’s only Super Bowl win during the 1985 season and their 2006 NFC Championship. McCaskey was the NFL’s user with the longest tenure and the oldest operator in all major sports in the country. Her son, George, operates as the group’s president.
Virginia Halas McCaskey lived a longer, fulfilling life and is now with the love of her life on earth, the family said in a statement the Bears released.” While we are sad, we are comforted.  ,” She guided the Bears for four years and based every business decision on what was best for Bears athletes, coaches, workers and followers”.
The McCaskey community and the whole Bears organization are in our thoughts and prayers.
